The Digital Product Passport will become mandatory based on the European Commission's proposal included in the Ecodesign Regulation for sustainable products (ESPR).The mandatory requirement will initially apply to specific sectors with a high environmental impact, such as:

The introduction of the Digital Product Passport will be gradual, following the deadlines of the Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR).Companies must prepare early to comply with legal obligations and avoid penalties.
